i went to the hspital on thusday with regular pains lasting between 30 to seconds the midwife did an internal and said she could touch my babies head and fit her two nfingers inside me, she then me home to have some tea and said id be back within a few hours,i am still sitting here and today when i got up my pains have stopped has this happened to anyone else, any advice?? what does she mean about fitting her two fingers inside me??Help advice needed?? 39 weeks pregnant.?
sounds like you're cervix is not dialated enough to have the baby. it can sometimes take weeks to get to 10 cm. continue with appointments as usual unless you have further pain or if you don't feel the baby move regularly.
good luck.Help advice needed?? 39 weeks pregnant.?
Oh, sorry.
It's called ';false labor,'; -- seems like labor then it stops. You could start up again today, or maybe not for several days.
It's very normal.
Just a false alarm, that's all.
Two fingers is about 3 centimeter, but don't get too excited. Many people are like that at the end of pregnancy, before labor starts. Especially if this is not your first! It means your cervix is ';ripe'; and ready for labor. All you need is strong regular contractions.
Try to relax and stay rested. It will happen when it happens.
she was checking how much was your cervix dilated. 10 cm and you can push, less- waiting game
The pains will come back again I can assure you and then you will wish that they hadn't lol! You are just in a slow labour, try and stay active even try some raspberry leaf tea. Good luck but if in doubt call your midwife they don't mind better to be safe! Good luck
good luck you obviously are not physically ready quite yet. she was putting her fingers inside you to see how far your cervix has opened, 10cm means you are ready. get some drugs early on.
she probably meant that your cervix is dialated.
i was dialated @ 2cm for i think 3 weeks.
if your water hasn't broken (and trust me you'll know) %26amp; you haven't lost your mucous (sp?) plug then you're probably ok (it looks something like bloody boogers in your undies).
i went over my due date with all 3 of my kids...they ended up inducing the last 2.
if your water breaks - go in. if you lose your plug %26amp; nothing else happens i'd call before going in.
good luck %26amp; congrats on the new addition!
In most hospitals they don't admit you until you are about 4 cm dialated and by the sounds of it you may not be there quite yet walking is a great way to bring the labor on faster. Best wishes!
this mean s you are probably about 2 cm dilated it can take any amout of time to get to ten there is no hard and fast rule if the pains start again or are getting unbearable go back to the hospital or if you feel a gush of water from between your legs go to the hospital straight away because it is not usualy long after this that you are ready to deliver good luck
Well this means that you are in slow labour. God you are going to wish that it is t gonna go faster coz it will hurt
Good Luck!
You are getiing there. You are prob a bit dilated.
Try raspberry tea, a long walk, a spicy curry, sex and rubbing your nipples too is meant to all help to encourage labour to start if you are nearly there anyway.
Good luck when it starts you will wished it hadnt! lol
Labour is a strange thing, and different for everyone. As long as your waters have not broken there is no need to worry.
I went into hospital at 38 weeks for general check up and had only had a bit of backache and was already 2cms dialated.
Just make sure you keep your midwife informed of everything that happens and I'm sure it will all start pretty soon :)
If in doubt always contact your doctor/hospital/midwife as its always better to be safe than sorry. The first baby can be pretty scary if you have no idea what to expect.
Keep your chin up and hang in there, I'm sure it will all be fine.:)
If poss then speed things up with a bit of lurve makin' - or a curry - or go for a brisk walk - or jump up %26amp; down!!!... ok maybe don't do that!
If you're really worried then call your midwife - if they say over the phone that you're fine then INSIST she or another midwife comes around. If you don't push for it - they won't bother. (in my experience...).
Best of luck,
Bev
LOL
