Need your help/advice please! ASAP PLEASE!--?

hey everyone. ok im thinking of doing coontails...

i know EXACTLY how to do it.


i have dark brown hair, and tried to dye the stripes ultra light blonde. and after i washed the dye out, you can barely notice it.


im also doing one small streak on the opposing side.





im going to the drugstore today.. and do i need bleach? i prefer to do this at home, because i have not ever heard any salon doing coontails.





color i want: platinum blonde.





questions are:


do i need bleach? if so, what brand?





do i have to put coloring on top of the bleach? or can i just bleach it and not have to worry about the coloring?





how long would i have to wait to get dark brown hair to platinum blonde?
