Need help/advice with fabric paints?

I'm trying to add a design to a black hoodie. Basically it'll be a couple of cream-white symbols on the back and shoulders. My issue is that I haven't been able to find any kind of pros and cons regarding different ways to apply fabric paint (in particular free-hand and screen printing). Does anyone know of any differences in the resulting image quality between these two methods (or any other methods)?

Or, would it just be better to go to a professional screen-printing company rather than do it myself? One estimate I got from a local company was well over $60 for the work I wanted done if I provide my own hoodie. Any help or advice is appreciated.Need help/advice with fabric paints?
You might also consider stamping. You can make your own stamps, silkscreen, or freehand it if you're a better artist than I am. %26lt;g%26gt;

Pick up some good quality fabric paint (I like Jacquard's Lumiere and Neopaque) and try it on some fabrics from the ragbag. See what you like. Practice a bit and then just do it. The best technique is the one you're comfortable with and gives you the results you want.
