his schedule sounds alot like Hollys at that age,at 9mos i changed it gradually as she wasnt eating enough solids...
i knocked of the 10am milk,so she had milk at 7am,breakfast at 9am the lunch at 12ish...
then more milk at 2pm,and around 4pm i would just do sandwiches, chopped fruit, chopped cooked veg,breadsticks,cheese....occasionally a chicken dipper....chicken breast from our roast....
just things i thought she may like!! this way she had a chance to eat what she wanted, and got practice with finger foods..i would always follow with something to fill her though,so banana and yogurt...etc...
so i would try this, but dont expect the change to affect his appetite straight away,i took holly a week or so to work out that food as aposed to milk will fill her...now after a long battle she eats really well.
i hope it works for you...another thing have you tried water at 4am?Help help help advice needed?
babies should only have 22oz a day, I know that you think that might be starving him but it's not I was doing the very same thing with my 1 year when he was about 7mths. old, the doctor me to cut down on the milk to 22 oz, then he will would be able to eat more at lunch then when it comes for bedtime give him a full 8oz bottle and he should sleep all through the night.
babies eat more as they hit growth spurts. maybe he just needs more calorie intake at the moment. at this point he is still getting most of his nutrition from the bottle, food is still a learning experience. if it concerns you, never be afraid to call your Ped. they are there to help. my son is 16 months and he wakes at 5:30am has a breakfast/granola bar and some milk and sometimes goes back to bed. so its not abnormal, just frustrating :)
i would try both!
And see which one he likes the best!
It seems hes not a big breakfast fan ... so just go with what works for him and makes you both happiest!
Your routine is great! But dont be too rigid .. just wait and see what works!
Good luck! Your avatar looks so sweet!
all you can do is try what feels right to you.
i would try to replace one bottle with a bottle or sippy cup of water and some food. just see what happens :)
