Hello,
Basicaly, I have a problem with my hair.
I had it cut about over a month ago and it took a while to grow and ever since it seems that it's got really thin and my hair is no longer as curly.
I'm a 15 year old male. Could it be that i'm losing my hair already?
I had my hair layered btw if it matters.
Do you think that my hair could ever be restored or helped?
thanks.Help/Advice...?
Ahhh, the infamous hairloss panic every male endures at some point in time... Well my friend you don't need to worry about hair loss (you've got a couple of good years till that happens given that you take good care of it and... well you don't burn your scalp or anything tragic happens). Men don't lose their hair at such a young age as yourself. But your concern is healthy and you should take advantage of it to always make sure your hair is taken care of and at its best.
I've had my hair layered several times... in fact I specifically ask for layering, do you know why? Because I want the thin feel; my hair (thanks to my genetics) is naturally ';heavy'; and as a technique of countering my own genes I ask for layering. Layering is enough of a reason for your hair to be light, but what could make it even LIGHTER is the fact that your stylist may have thinned your hair (don't freak out it's a healthy process of making your hair lighter by cutting it vertically instead of horizontally removing weight from the hair).
As for the lack of curl, you've got two possible reasons; the lightness of your hair or you've actually at one point or another straightened it (but I highly doubt that a straightening iron can keep your hair straight for a month).
Whatever reason your hair is not curling back, RELAX, hair has this wonderful feature... it resets itself. There's some science to your hair but in a simple straight forward way, whatever you do (given you haven't done any permenant procedure like using chemical solutions to get a perm.. don't worry you haven't done anything permenant), when your hair grows back it will always grow back to its original state, i.e. if you give your hair some time it will go back to being curly and thick.
In summary:
Enjoy your hair buddy, don't you worry about hair loss cause it's just layering (and possibly thinning) and in a couple of weeks you should get your curls straight back... which would mean you'll have to go back to the stylist to get your hair layered :)Help/Advice...?
Having your hair layered thins the hair(not perminatlly) by taking the weight out.( I av to have it done to mine because its so thick!) Having your hair cut really short makes the curls grow straighter or less bouncy(so i have observed but I dont have any facts about it). i wouldn't think that your losing your hair..but these things can happen.
All da good shampoos i know about are quite femimine( seeing as i'm a 15 year old female :P) so if u dont mind then I'd recommend..any sort of volumising shampoo( Bed head have quite a good range- but some of em can be expensive) also ive found that Timotei is amazing!!
Sorry about the English but Im welsh so i don't really use English that much. Anyway don't know if it helps but good luck! :P
it's really hard to tell without seeing before and after pictures. It could just be that the layers make it appear and feel thinner. Also if it's way shorter than you yoused to have it, it may be less curly.
Layers will make your hair thinner. My hair was kinda thick then i had it layered and it totally made it lighter =D
Maybe its not curly its too short atm? :x
It'd probably get restored if your hair is naturally curly anyways
i don't know why but the longer your air is the less curly its going to be thats what happended to mine i got it cut and it was soooo much curlier then it was before
i think that the layers will make your hair feel thinner as you grab it!
Wait for it to grow some more and get them cut out that will make it look thicker.
