If its very little i suggest to get it a partner. Usually form being small they die fast , but big ones don't .They might get lonely. My small turtle was depressed and didn't eat and was lonely, but as soon as i got it a mate it survived well.My big turtle doesn't have a mate, but i sometimes give her a play date with the small ones. I put them in a plastic container, and put the water low so I don't have to clean it much. Put the water high like once a day to give it exercise. I feed mine dried shrimp, pellets (give them everyday because all turtles hate them at first, but soon eta it), or any fruits or vegetables.DON'T GIVE THEM RAW MEAT LIKE CHICKEN IT MAY CAUSE SALMONELLA. PUT YOUR TURTLES IN THE SUN EVERYDAY FOR HEAT OR IT WILL GET WHITE SPOTS or get sick. I put it in the sun since UV light bulbs are expensive, and sometimes blind my turtles up close. I use a inflatable pool for its exercise, and are very happy! Good luck! ON MORE INFO TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR TURTLES GO HERE:

P.S. NOT ALL RED EAR SLIDERS LOOK THE SAME . YOURS PROBABLY IS ONE.Turtle advice and help?
Red ear sliders do not always have the red markings I have 1 whose 'ears' look more yellow and one that doesn't have any markings. Or you could have a yellow bellied slider.
RES and YBS get very large think dinner plate big. My smallest is a 10'; RESmale my largest a 13.5';RES female. They need water and lots of it.
This is a very detailed caresheet for red ear sliders.

Turtles do not get lonely and 99% of sliders are very territorial and will fight any tank mates. Any fish you put with it is a potential snack.
I had a turtle just like that for many years. If you do now want to put a lot of money into a water tank you do not have to. This is what I did when I had turtles. I had a big clear plastic container with water in it and fed them fish flake food. They loved it. I would also take their little home outside in the sun for awhile. They were happy
You can use a tank or a large plastic container! they do need a water tank but they also need a heat source and a sunning rock! you can also feed it small goldfish or feeders!
