Pickpocketing is one of the most simplest form of crimes. It is also the root of all crimes. A kid started pickpocketing but the people around him ignored it thinking the former doesn't know what he's doing. In effect, the kid realizes that what he did is not wrong; it is right. He continues doing it and eventually does more crimes because he was ignored. He grows up thinking what he is doing is still correct because nobody cared to tell him which is right and wrong.
Application: The most heinous crimes eventually came from a simple pickpocketing incident.
